Don’t let money worries get in your way - financial support could be available for learning at any age, to help you take control of your future.
Learning more skills is often free at basic levels - or your employer may offer to pay or subsidise your learning. In addition, there is financial support available for adult learners. If you’re confused about what you may be entitled to, you can call us for more help on 0800 011 30 30.
Adult Learning Grant (ALG)
If you’re over 19 and want to study or train for your first full Level 2 or 3 qualification - a vocational or academic-based course up to the equivalent of 5 good GCSEs (Level 2) or A-Levels (Level 3) - ALG could provide a grant of up to £30 a week.
Career Development Loan
If you’re over 18 and set in your career, but want to go one step further, you can access loans to cover course fees and living expenses for work-related learning.
Money for university and higher education
Higher education students can receive financial help such as student loans and other assistance.
